What is Lend4Good?

I have been a mortgage loan originator (NMLS 245903) since 2002. As my business grew, it enabled me to give back more to the charities that were closest to my heart – which have always been those that help animals in need. I have had pets my entire life, from dogs & cats to guinea pigs, birds, rabbits, and lizards, so I have loved animals of all kinds!

The more my business grew, the more I wanted to give back, but with the ability to include my clients . So Lend4Good was created, a program in which I make a donation on behalf of each client that works with me, mostly to local animal rescue organizations. 2015 was the first year and thanks to so many wonderful clients, we made $4,025 in donations. We celebrated the $50k milestone with a huge party, raising more money for rescues and we most recently surpassed $80k in donations! We have accomplished my goal of increasing the donations every single year, allowing us to help more animals that need a helping hand.

Supporting Animals In Need

We try to choose specific animals that are in need of help. Social Media provides so many stories, especially of dogs in need of care, or ones that have been injured or neglected and need assistance with huge medical bills. Lend4Good has allowed us to donate funds that are used to provide care for many sick or injured dogs, as well as cover expenses for dogs in foster care waiting for their “furever home”.

We have also donated to local cat and rabbit rescues! We want to help 4-legged friends of all shapes and sizes!

Scooter

Scoot is an extra special guy with some extra special needs. He’s mostly paralyzed in the back end and is also incontinent.

Scooter went to a neurologist in Columbus so we could figure out what caused this and if it was fixable. We got our answer pretty quickly… Neosporosis.

Neospora is a parasite that was passed to him in utero from his mom. It paralyzes muscles. He started antibiotics immediately to kill the parasite and keep it from doing further damage. We can’t fix Scoot, he is how he is…which is PERFECT!

Jake

My #Lend4Good program was able to donate $50 towards Jake’s life-saving surgery on behalf of Stop the Suffering Animal Rescue of Ohio and we helped them reach their goal!!! Thanks to our clients who close on their home loans with our team so we are able to help local animals in need like Jake Happy to have helped contribute to this pup’s #happytail journey! #payitforward

Zoe

There are so many instances where we donate to local animal rescues via #Lend4Good but we rarely get to see many updates after surgeries, etc. We donated $100 towards RESCUEDohio‘s “Zoe” and this adorable little gal is on the #roadtorecovery after a successful surgery from being hit by a car #happytails Zoe and get well soon on behalf of our team here at Union Home Mortgage!

Daisy

You’re going to look at this beautiful, healthy-looking dog and wonder why she needs a fundraiser. Her limbs are not falling off, her skin looks just fine, she is not malnourished. But some illnesses just aren’t visible and won’t elicit an emotional reaction from anyone. But those dogs deserve to be helped too, right? #Lend4Good to donate $100 to this sweet puppy’s etopic ureters, which essentially turns her into… well, a leaky faucet. #HappyTails Daisy and #GetWellSoon!!

Colette

I swear if I didn’t have my two monsters this little girl would be mine! #Lend4Good just donated $300 to Speak for the Unspoken‘s Colette, a sweet but deaf double-merle puppy who was hospitalized several weeks ago and so unstable that she couldn’t have her CT imaging scan. #HappyTails and #GetWellSoon to this pup!!

Maia

Maia is around 12 weeks old and just tested positive for parvo. She was being rehomed and became deathly ill. Parvo is expensive to treat and doesn’t always end with the outcome we want. #Lend4Good was able to donate a portion of funds from recently financed homes to her hopeful recovery! #HappyTails Maia!! #payitforward

Oakley

Oakley wanted to pay a visit to the three resident horses and he found himself trapped underneath one of them. Unfortunately, he suffered a pretty extensive leg injury. Oakley’s options were an expensive surgery to repair the leg, amputation or euthanize. The family was provided an estimate of approximately $4800.00 to repair his leg. #Lend4Good swooped in to donate $100 towards his surgery cost! #payingitforward #happytails

Buddy

This beautiful guy was found on the side of the road. He lay there for 3 hours before the police rescued him. The police took him to Medvet & the shelter refused to help so they reached out to Adopt A Pit. He had 2 pelvic fracture & broken femur.

He had a broken/dislocated tibia. He needs surgery. #Lend4Good to the rescue to donate towards this beautiful boy’s medical needs! #HappyTails sweet boy and wishing you the speediest of recoveries!

Georgie

Some dogs cost us more than others, and Georgie is an example of a pup who will never recover her expenses through an adoption fee. But that doesn’t mean she shouldn’t get all the care that she needs and deserves!
Miss Georgie has a torn ligament in one of her legs and will need TPLO surgery (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy). It’s similar to an ACL tear in humans.
We were able to donate $300 towards her care and medical expenses thanks to our clients choosing us to help finance their homes! #happytails #payitforward

On behalf of my Lend4Good program, we were able to donate towards the surgery and care of this sweet girl at the Franklin County Dog Shelter & Adoption Center. “Peggy” is suffering from severe ear issues! She has had to suffer a long time in her short life, for her ears to get so bad. She needed IMMEDIATE medical attention which we were able to donate towards. Buckeye Bulldog Rescue Transports

I am a volunteer for Buckeye Bulldog Rescue, putting my DOG UBER plates to perfect use!

I help to transport rescued dogs between vets and fosters around Ohio.

These photos are a few of the pups I’ve been lucky enough to play just a tiny part of their journey to a new life.

One that they will not be abused or neglected or mistreated.

I cherish being one of their connections to a new and spoiled life of love that they deserve.

Animal rescues are in desperate need of volunteers, and the time you offer is valued more than you could ever know.

I’ve been so blessed to build a successful and thriving business and paying it forward is the most rewarding way for me to show appreciation for those who have supported me and my company. My hope is that the more people who learn that working with me has the added benefit of helping animals in need, the more clients I will have, and the more we will give back! I like to think that helping someone with a mortgage for a home they are purchasing is a symbol of a new beginning for them, and Lend4Good allows us to offer a new beginning to an animal in need.
